Where to stay

Sevierville cabins and group lodges

Sevierville has the highest average nightly rate of the four towns because its rentals are bigger. Per person, it is often the best deal.

Sevierville is the first of the three main towns you reach coming from Interstate 40, and its hills hold many of the area's largest rental lodges. The average nightly rate is about $417, the highest of the four towns, mainly because the typical listing has more bedrooms.

Who should stay in Sevierville

  • Family reunions, wedding parties and church or team groups of 10 or more.
  • Groups arriving from I-40 who want to skip the drive through Pigeon Forge on arrival night.
  • Anyone who wants a big indoor-pool or theater-room lodge and does not need to walk anywhere.

Compare cost per person, not per night

A $900-a-night lodge that sleeps 16 costs about $56 per person per night before fees. Two $380 cabins that sleep 8 each cost about $48 per person, but you lose the shared kitchen and evenings together. Run both numbers with fees included before deciding.

What to check on a large lodge

  • Real beds vs sleeper sofas. "Sleeps 16" often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Parking. How many cars fit, and is the driveway workable for all of them?
  • Event rules. Many lodges cap occupancy and forbid events; reunions and weddings need written permission.
  • Pool heating. Ask whether the indoor pool is heated and whether that costs extra.

When to book

Large lodges are scarce, so book further out than you would for a small cabin: at least 60 to 90 days for fall and holidays, and earlier for holiday weeks with a big group.
