Wears Valley cabins: quiet views near Cades Cove

Wears Valley is the slow, scenic option: ridge-top cabins, very little traffic and an easy back road toward Townsend and Cades Cove.

Wears Valley runs west from Pigeon Forge along U.S. 321. It has some of the best long mountain views in the area and averages about $367 a night, the lowest of the four towns.

Why people choose Wears Valley

  • Quiet. No Parkway, no neon, and dark skies at night.
  • Views. Many cabins face the main Smokies ridge across an open valley.
  • Cades Cove access. The road continues toward Townsend, the quieter side door into the park and the way to Cades Cove, an 11-mile one-way loop that closes to cars on Wednesdays from May through September.

The trade-offs

You will drive for most meals and attractions, and some ridge cabins sit at the top of long, steep driveways. If you are visiting in winter, read our guide to cabins without steep driveways first.

Who it suits

Couples, photographers, hikers heading to Cades Cove and families who would rather spend evenings on the deck than on the Parkway. If you want to walk to dinner, choose Gatlinburg instead.
